What We Do

Benefits & Programs

Scholarships

WPSF is honored to administrate and award over 40 scholarships to qualified and deserving Wahoo High School seniors. Last year, over $50,000 in scholarships were awarded.

Innovative Teaching Grants

Grants are awarded to faculty who submit application for materials and supplies for projects related to innovative classroom methods.  The methods must be considered creative and outside of the norm of traditional classroom experiences. Applications are judged on their merit by the Awards and Grants Committee and awards are made on approval of the WPSF Board. Two to three awards are usually made annually. Innovative Teaching Grants are made possible by the Daniel Pestal Innovative Teaching Award Fund.

Charlie Divis Outstanding Service Award

The Foundation recognizes individuals for their outstanding service and contribution, not only to the Wahoo Public School system, but to the community and surrounding area. The award is given in the name of Charlie Divis, a long-time resident, teacher, and administrator in the Wahoo Schools. Charlie, one of the founding WPSF Board members, was the first recipient of this award. Subsequent awards have also been made to Dr. John Hansen and Willard Hunzeker.
